Abstract

Soluble proteins were obtained from cells of various species of the family and subjected to electrophoretic examination in polyacrylamide gels. The protein profiles so obtained showed a strong species specificity; they might be useful in species characterization. Little or no characteristic intrageneric pattern could be established for or . The electrophoretic patterns are discussed in relation to the taxonomy of the family.
