Abstract

16S rRNA gene sequencing studies were performed on and four -diaminopimelic acid-containing species of the genus Phylogenetic analysis revealed a close association between and representatives of the lysine-containing genera , and By contrast, the genus formed a distinct line of descent within the high-guanine- plus-cytosine-containing actinomycetes, displaying no specific affinity with any other organism examined.
